Position Description:

SUMMARY:
Our candidate will have knowledge of a full range of database technology and alternatives and all related tools. They will be proficient in data modeling and large scale relational databases.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
*Knowledge of a full range of database technology and alternatives and all related tools
*Proficient in data modeling and large scale relational databases
*Experience designing and building enterprise grade data warehouse systems
*Experience with Cognos, SSRS and PowerPivot highly desired
*Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts and principles
*Slight preference towards Inmon's approach versus Kimball's, but willing to be flexible

Position Requirements
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
*Must be able to develop strategies to optimize solutions and data access
*Provides expertise in database technologies and methodologies and data management and database administration support, consultation and technical guidance
*Supports the design of high performance database architectures based on the model that best utilizes emerging technology to permit database communication and data sharing
*May manage the design, development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of new databases and revisions to existing databases and develop standards and procedures to maximize performance, data integrity and recoverability
*Trains junior staff
*May act as mentor for a more junior person
*Performs related duties as assigned or requested

QUALIFICATIONS
A related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 8 years progressive experience in Information Technology including at least 5 years database experience
